Ridiculously delayed, but for NAIDOC week our school had a fantastic breakfast BBQ outside the library including inviting local elders and past students, we played Indigenous themed films in the library, I had a PowerPoint alternating between famous Indigenous art and book covers of Indigenous authors, we had some beautiful tools and artefacts from differnt regions of Australia in the front window display and, of course, I had a book display.

This year’s theme was Serving Country: Centenary and Beyond so while the books were generally fiction to reel students in, the pictures were Aboriginal servicemen and women from World War I all the way up to recent times.

NAIDOC week was way back in Winter but we celebrated it late so we could do it properly rather than rushing it. A fun week.
